Wing Commander and Star Citizen creator Chris Roberts has congratulated developer Frontier Developments and David Braben on the launch of another space sim, Elite: Dangerous.
"I know that many Star Citizen backers imagine there to be an intense competition between our game and Elite, but nothing could be further from the truth," Roberts said, adding that he and Braben even helped each other raise money for their respective games. "So rather than be worried about Elite or No Man's Sky, I welcome them. It's been a long time coming but Space Sims are finally getting the love they deserve."
Star Citizen's crowdfunding campaign, which is the biggest for a project of any kind in history, continues to soar. It currently stands at more than $67.3 million from more than 689,408 backers.
Elite: Dangerous released on December 16. For more on that game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.
