Fable Legends: New Screenshots Released, Dev Talks PC Graphics

Microsoft and developer Lionhead Studios on Thursday released batch of new Fable Legends screenshots alongside the news that the role-playing title will be a free-to-play game.

As you can see in the gallery below, Fable Legends retains the Fable franchise's trademark stylized visual approach, albeit with enhanced definition. Click through the gallery below to see Legends' deep, dark forests and pumpkin-filled hillsides, as well as its heroes and ghoulish foes.

In addition to Xbox One, Fable Legends is coming to PC. The game, developed using the latest version of the Unreal Engine, may look visually superior on PC, according to Lionhead engineering lead Raymond Arifianto. This isn't surprising, given that PC versions of games can make use of more resources than their console counterparts.

"The game may get prettier if you're running on a really beast machine; we will scale up," he said. Arifianto did not share PC requirements for Fable Legends.

The developer also spoke about Fable Legends' cross-platform play between Xbox One and PC.

"Everything that you can do on Xbox One you can do in Windows 10, and not only that, but everything just works," he said.

"You can play on Xbox One, and then if you switch over to your PC you can pick up where you left off with all your character XP, loot, and inventory and stuff, and it just carries over without having to think about it."
